How does it actually work?
The participants
The program is suitable for holders of a PhD research degree. Those holding a professional doctorate must complete a research doctorate prior to the program.
The personal mentor model
Each PhD student is assigned a professor who acts as a personal mentor. Mentoring is about finding research topics of mutual interest together. The mentor and student meet every month for a one-hour mentoring session.
Mentor meetings and assignments
During the monthly meetings, the supervising professor gives the doctoral student a list of tasks that must be completed by the next meeting. The student has three weeks to complete and submit the assigned tasks. The tutor spends the last week before the next meeting reviewing the student's work.
Expected results
